June 2, 2019

Will England: Saophonist and composer Will England hails from Grove City, Ohio. Will attended the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, earning a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Saxophone. Shortly after graduation, he traveled the world, performing on cruise ships as a show band musician, singer, and musical director. Will now enjoys living in downtown Columbus, preforming, teaching, and composing. Will's earnest, expressive tone and tasteful, adventurous improvising keeps him busy collaborating with a wide variety of musicians, both in the Columbus region and in North Carolina, where he regularly travels to record and perform. Bradley Mellen: Bassist and cellist Bradley Mellen has been an active member of the Columbus music scene for over a decade. His lyrical, inquisitive approach to both bass lines and melodies, combined with his versatility and wide-ranging interests, have kept him working with a great variety of musical projects. Recent appearances have included recurring engagements with virtuoso pianist Tony Hagood, fusion jazz guitarist Alex Schrock, international vocalist Laura Camara, Ohio State University director of Jazz Studies Shawn Wallace, and latin-jazz group Clave Sonic. He has also occasionally appeared with his own group, the Brad Mellen Quartet, with which he often explores his interest in re-envisioning compelling tunes from soundtracks, popular artists, and other sources in a jazz setting, as well as performing some of his own compositions. Bradley holds a Bachelor's degree in composition and jazz studies from the Ohio State University, and a Master's degree in jazz performance from Purchase College in New York. Addison Smith: Columbus native, Addison Smith, resides in Bexley with his wife and two sons. Addison brings his adventurous, exuberant spirit to the drum set; his singular voice has led to many collaborations with friends and musicians on the Columbus scene. Recent projects and associations have Addison busy exploring and performing jazz, funk, latin-jazz and Brazilian fusion. Addison holds a BA in Philosophy from Grove City College, Pennsylvania, and a Master's degree in Education from The Ohio State University. He regularly travels to South-East Asia for his work with Asia's Hope, a local non-profit that is dedicated to providing comprehensive, family-style care for orphaned and abandoned children.
